Bold forms and bright colours inspired by the Memphis Movement enliven this 1980s Postmodern building on thriving Upper Street.
Distinctive by design: A bold Postmodern landmark in Islington, ToG teamed up with Shed architects for 2 Angel Square to create a clean, modern work space that reflected the history of the building. Honing TOC’s progressive spirit, Shed developed and refined a resin design to form a new kind of terrazzo’ that is present throughout the space.
Global talent: TOG studios worked alongside Shed architects on the interiors at 2 Angel Square, who have developed interiors across 30 countries for the likes of Coca-Cola, Prada and Ford. Furniture from international designers such as Tom Dixon are used alongside bespoke places.
Sustainability: All on-site waste is recycled and the energy consumption is monitored for optimization, while a high level of reuse runs through the interiors -from original ceilings to modification of lighting with diffusers-with a focus on restoration and eliminating waste wherever possible.
Statement space: The Memphis style is both high impact and functional – packed with vibrant design details, from a painstakingly developed resin terrazzo that recycles paint chips, through to mesh curtains that segment and divide areas while allowing natural light circulation.
Collaboration zones: Pocket lounges on each floor allow members to come together socially, whether that’s an Informal meeting over a coffee or exchanging ideas at lunch. These spaces can also be used for more casual breakouts from member offices.
