Trivia.

Not many people know that Blackfriars station was originally named ‘St Paul’s’ up until 1937. The ‘Post Office’ tube station took the St Paul’s title, leaving Blackfriars nameless. It was eventually named Blackfriars after a Domincon priory established in 1276. The friars wore black robes, hence the name, Blackfriars.
